I'm thinking this might be my last blog..

I'd like to take this time to say farewell to my classmates and prof. in advance and thanks to all for the interesting English class.....dum dum dum dum dum dum.... Happy holidays to everyone and BE SAFE for new years ;)

Almost complete

I'm  happy that I didn't really slack in this class with the blogs and whatnot. I feel like some of you guys got kinda stressed today trying to figure out how many more you need and lord knows I don't need that stress! Today was nice because it was so laid back and I was able to get questions answered. I'm basically finished with my MM project and I just have one more page to do on that dang rhetorical analysis paper! grr
Although i liked todays class i also hated it, mainly because I've been getting more and more sick. In the middle of class I felt like if I moved, I was going to get sick so I didn't really make the most of class time.

Christmas music

I'm thinking there should be a radio station specifically for Christmas music. This is so people can listen to it all year round. I truly believe it just makes everyone...yes I do mean everyone, a little bit more cheerful :) I know I jam out to that in the middle of June!

Unorganized topics

So a few days ago i decided to totally re-organize one of my papers and basically start from scratch. I have so much work to do I hope I can get to perfection before the deadline!! Can anyone help me as to what the date is where everrryyything is due?

To make my title fitting, I thought I'd tell you guys some random stuff :)
My sororities' formal (along with tons of other sororities formals) is this Friday :) I'm mostly excited because my boyfriend Jerry will be able to FINALLY meet the people and world that I talk about oh so much about. and that the girls can meet him. I don't have a good dress to wear for this thou so I'm wearing a friends that she wore to prom...her body is definitely different than mine so lets all cross our fingers with hopes of it fitting me! today im going out to get shoes for it...and of course im stopping VS because the fashion show was last night and imma get me some free stuff :)

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I am thankful that my family didn't have to go anywhere this year because we hosted my dad's side over at my house. I ate so much I straight up passed out for a good two hours after I ate! It didn't help that the heat was cranked up to 7.8 degrees in my house because my grandparents like it that way..I felt like I was in a legit coma. It was a good coma though.  :)  I just got back from getting to see Breaking Dawn and puss in boots :D  It was funny because even my dad went so it'd be a family event. Now I get to look forward to see all like 50 of my cousins from my mom's side come to my house saturday :)
Hasta Luego!

Winding down

So I had a conference on tuesday. It was weird. It made me realize that this semester is almost over.
I'm not sure where any of you guys are, but I have a lot more to do before I'll be satisfied with my papers and writing. A LOT.

Right Now, Today.

It takes me forever to get use to new things, new friends, new school, new teachers, new everything. Today I finally got my act together and I've got a good balance of sorority, new friends, exercise, doing school work, studying, and sleeping. I was just really happy about this so I thought I would share :)
I hope I'm not feeling like this because I've just had an easier day, and that Thanksgiving break is just around the corner...we'll see. Oh P.S. good job to all the people who went through the intensive reviews today :) I like the webpages so much better than writing on paper!

Possible subject for a persuasion speech.

Today in COMM 210 my teacher told us to be thinking about our next topic for our LAST SPEECH :)
Usually it takes days to figure out what I could stand to write/talk about. But there has always been a subject that i have believed in but it's defiantly a tricky subject.
I have always been confused with the thought that cigarettes are legal, but not wearing a seatbelt is not legal. This is weird to me because if someone chooses not to wear a seat-belt, the only person they would be hurting is themselves right? But if someone smokes, the smoker is giving everyone around them second hand smoke. They're giving it to people who are breathing smoke in not by choice.  This doesn't seem quite right to me. idk. It's a good subject when thinking broadly about it, but it can turn to be very tricky real quick when using examples past the two I provided. I don't know. Food for thought?

Multimodal websites

Today was the intensive peer review. I was really impressed with how professional everyones' sites are looking! It makes me hope that the hyperlink to their sites stay up on the ENG103 so i can keep peeking at everyone's work. That thought leads me to think about how it'd be cool if we coud read the finished papers of the other students, or at least the people papers who were in our peer review group.

weekend time:)

So I was debating weather I should go home or stay here. At first I was set on going home to see everyone and to do laundry, but when texting my mom to give her the good news about me deciding that I was planning on coming home, she replied with "why?" so after that i decided to stay here and have a girls night. We planned to do the typical watch movies and have facials.  After i decided to stay here my boyfriend's mom-whom I love- told me shed pick me up friday and I could stay at their house and I could go to Zumba with her and she'd bring me back whenever. Sounds good, but idk..id feel weird staying there all weekend and not home with my rents if i went..... I might just go for one night?

Making a web site!!

I've never  imagined I'd be making my own web site! its a real cool idea. I think i've decided on a topic on how peoples moods can be affected by weather and ill pry include how colors can do this also.

Living arrangements for next year!

So besides the fact that I know I am wasting toooooons of my parents money because of the meal plans here, and the fact that I constantly hear the ROTC guys screaming early in the morning right outside my room, that doors are constantly getting slammed all the time, and that I share toilets and showers with over fifty girls, living in a dorm really isn't bad and I could defiantly live in a dorm for another one to two more years. But I would rather live in a cozy apartment where I would feel more comfortable. Saturday morning my parents and little bro (who im ecstatic to see) are all coming up here to check the place out and tell me if they will be ok with me living in this apartment or not. I'm glad my dad's coming to check it out and talk with the people because he thinks of EVERYTHING and will ask questions that my not-yet-totally-matured-brain can think of yet. :) Hopefully my rents will say yes but if not then owell. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! I wanna go to a sporting event this weekend, I think my choices are Swimming/Diving or Cross Country?

I'm not ready for winter

Just being in air conditioning is rough for me at times lol I should be living more south than Indiana! Especially northern Indiana :P Today is nice with a sweat shirt on but anything colder and Imma start going into hibernation in my dorm cell lol. I've already picked up a few pounds from the food here so I'm getting a head start for the winter time i guess...
I'm excited for this weekend cause my parents and brother are coming up to look at a potential apartment for me next year =). I was originally just going to stay in the dorms but after realizing how much money I'm wasting because of the meal plans hear ill be better off just living off campus and going grocery shopping once a week! The only down side is ill have a longer walk to classes, but I'd be like right by the village so it's not that bad at all!

Research Topics

Ok so I feel most comfortable with writing this paper because it is a research paper. Why? I'm not quite sure. I started out trying to go off a topic that was close-ish to my last paper. But it really didn't seem like an issue that I would like writing because it was about different cultures and there are soooo many that it could get way complicated waay too fast! Now Im writing about how other countries are surpassing  the US test scores and that the gap of test scores could be lessened if we switched to year round education systems.

Me rambling of fall break :)

Hope everyone had a good fall break! I know I did! My fall break started out with me picking up my friend  at Johnson Hall B with my car. Often I get told that I am a good woman driver, but Friday was just not my day! Our trip started by me trying to get out of johnson. My first two attempts were a fail because I went the wrong way in a one way street...twice :( Once we got on the road we kept talking and laughing so I wasn't paying much attention to the roads I was staying on or getting off of. I live about an hour and a half away and it ended up taking us 4 hours to get home!! It was definitely the craziest car ride of my life. Saturday I was really looking forward to going to my first college football game! Since I missed Ball States homecoming, I wanted to go to Indiana State's homecoming (which they won by 20some points!) because some of my best friends go there. When I got there my friends bf drove to where his frat had put up a tent for tailgating. Im pretty positive we were the ONLY sober people there! ya this made it really funny to talk to people but some guys were way to gone and got kind of creepy.
FYI for people that go to ISU: there are tons of undercover cops dressed as college kids asking for beer...they also attempt to act drunk lol umm Being home is always nice but leaves me stressed out for the next week because I dont do schoolwork at home. So I feel like I'm playing catch up right now. Always fun :) It was worth it though because I got to hangout with my best friend and my boyfriend for the majority of the break! Ummm As you can tell I have nothing of importance to say so, later!

Conferences & the Writing Center

Alrighty, so today I had my first conference and it went alright. It definitely helped out because before today I wasn't really sure what i was even going to write this upcoming paper on, and now I have a very good idea. After my conference I wondered on over to the writing center( after I made an appointment) and  I recommend all of you to check it out. I haven't finished any of the papers for english fully and the woman who I was scheduled with gave me ideas on how to improve and get closer to finishing my first paper.
That's all for today! I hope everyone has a fantastic Fall Break!!

ladadahh

I'm not sure if were suppost to post anything this week since we technically don't have class buuuut I'm going to play it safe :) for those who have read my other blogs :Air Jam was fun and I decided to follow my gut and stick to the idea of becoming a dietitian for my career! :)  for me, my choices are to go into that, accounting, or political science.
Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

Who's Going to Air Jam tonight!?

So this week I've had such a hard time balancing out my schedule from bust and homecoming events and school! I probably should have skipped out on some events to get work done but I just couldn't help myself! I'm so excited for tonight for two reasons. One is that I've only heard good things about Air Jam; I'm glad I got my ticket way early cause they sold out a day or two ago! I'm also excited because after this, my life has the possibility to calm down and I might even have free time to just chill out!

precious librarians

Yesterday for class we met at the library. It was different but probably a very good idea! I've kinda been intimidated to go use the library's computers because theres so many and it just seemed confusing. I still don't know how to use the printers or if I used one, which printer my papers would go to. At least I know I can research what the library has on my own laptop :) so that's always nifty to have!

Any one watch the news?

I'm from a little town that I don't expect any of you to know. Monrovia Indiana is where I went to high school. If any one watched the news two nights ago, you know that a girl from Monrovia is now accusing an old teacher of mine of rapping her. Now, I know both these people on a personal level; I was a co-captain for the the schools  track teem that she was involved in, and not only was I a student for the health teacher & weights teacher that is now being accused of this, but he was also the football coach for my brother a few years back, and I have baby sat his 2 children before with a friend of mine. I will admit that he is perverted, in my weights class there was only 2 girls in the class including myself and inappropriate jokes were made. For some reason his behavior was just accepted throughout the school. No one saw him as an actual threat and we all took his jokes and laughed at them. Last spring during my senior season of track, it was well known that the girl (Miranda) and the teacher texted, which is extremely weird and everyone told her that. But she kept texting him, most likely leading him on. I believe that there is a good chance that they slept together but she is coming forward now with this information because she is ashamed of her own actions, and knows that if she told, she would A.) gain attention, and B.) not have to stand seeing him at school almost everyday and feeling the guilt she deserves to feel because he will soon be fired from her words. She knew what she was getting herself into by texting inappropriately. She could have stopped this at any moment and he would have backed down most likely. But now she is telling the story like he forced her to give him pictures because if she didn't he'd rape her, and she wanted to leave but he denied her. I don't know the actual story, because I was not there, but based on my relationships with both of them, this is how I can imagine it happened based on their characteristics. The majority of people from my hometown who knew the people involved  believe the same ideas as I do about this. I know he is still in the wrong, but she's not miss innocent here either. I hate how when Monrovia actually gets on the news, it's for this.

Oh Those Peer Reviews :)

love em :) Love to hear ways to improve my work! I understand how people can get offended but they're good for the long run.

If you don't want to hear complaints then you may not want to read :)

Ok so I am a person that never gets sick. When the rare sickness does hit me, it hits hard. But within the last year I feel like i have gotten many smaller sicknesses. A good example of this is now. I just barely sick enough to where I feel awful and don't want to do anything but not sick enough to have an excuse to lay in bed for a full day to sleep and recover. I feel like a big deal of these little sicknesses are from me stressing so much. I am about to schedule my second semester classes and I am still oblivious of what I would be interested in doing for the rest of my life as a career...kind of a big choice to make don't ya think!?! Some people are amazing at math, so they do something to involve aspect. Others are gifted in sciences, so they choose a path to incorporate that. I love who I am and all but I seem to not have a gift that shines bright and I have accepted the fact that I am an 'average' woman. I just wish I knew a career that would be right for me :) thats all I have to say at the moment. Goodnight everyone!

No Free time

So I hate how before I came to college, everyone told me all these activities that I should get involved in so I won't always be bored with a ton of down time at college. No, I have absolutely no idea what they were thinking! I have absolutely no down time here, and I want some! Yes, I did join a sorority (shout out to Alpha phi!!) and that takes up time, but even when I'm not doing that, I'm either at class, doing homework, eating, showering, or sleeping! I have a strong feeling I'm just going to get more homework to do later on in the year so I guess I should forget the words free time...because I won't be having any of that!

Log #2

Hope everyone had a good weekend!
Ok, for today we were suppost to read pages 350-400 in the book. Surprisingly the reading went really fast. In class Ann went over a rhetorical analysis assignment we will be doing very soon (so get ready to write another four pages!). We also saw a comercial for Old Spice and picked out the speaker, subject, and audience, aka: ethos, pathos, and logos from that add. Oh, if anyone wasn't in class today (Thursday) then make sure you look at the due dates for the rhetorical analysis assignment because the dates have been moved a little. That's all :)

Log #1

Today, I was confused why no one was waiting outside the room so I took a seat outside in the lobby area. Right before class began I finally realized everyone was already in class I got kind of embarrassed when I walked in almost late but that's okay. Today in class we talked about what we liked and what could be better (in out opinions) about Haley and Bridgett's This I Believe essays.  After that process we had spare time that we were to use to revise our own papers. Class was laid back and everything was dandy!

Rainy Days

I'm sure it's not just me who is sick of all this rain! Yesterday my room mate and I decided to try and catch a bus to take us to Target so we could do some shopping that needed to be done. This was our first attempt of getting on a bus to take us outside the campus besides during welcome week when we were being guided around. So we sat outside Lafollette on the bus benches waiting. We knew a bus came by every 10-15 minutes so when it started to sprinkle we told ourselves we would wait it out. Other people were around waiting for the same bus so we had no doubts that the bus would come very soon. We were waiting about 10 minutes when it started to rain harder and we started to question the idea of a bus coming our way. After all, it was a Saturday and maybe the buses only ran on week days? The people around us assured us that a bus going to the mall or Wall-Mart would be around any minute but my room mate decided to look up the schedule on her phone anyways. While she was doing that I saw a Wal-mart bus coming from the opposite side of the road and I decided to run after it to the bus stop on the other side of the road to ask about the schedule. Turns out the buses stop running at exactly 6: 23 P.M. on Saturdays. So if anyone wants to make a run to a store on saturdays, do it in the early afternoon. Lesson's Learned.

For those who want to know my random thoughts...

Some people are addicted to alcohol, drugs, and shopping. For some weird reason I'm hard core addicted to LifeSavers Wint O Green Mints! they're my favorite, and I eat them faster than any kind of candy. This is on my mind because my senior year everyone thought I spent too much money on them and ate them way too often so I stopped. But last night I bought another package and they're almost gone already. :(
In other news my internet stopped working and screwed me up this past weekend. It was a sad story but thankfully I went to the tech center and after an hour of several people trying to figure out the problem they got it working again!! Yayyy.
Today in class was peer review, and I'm so thankful I got some helpful criticism because I needed it! I love feedback in limited quantities! Lets see how Thursday goes! Later Cardinal fans!

A weekend at home

So I'm doing this blog now because friday I went straight from classes to home. I live almost 2 hours south of muncie and I was scheduled to work all weekend. This worked out well because my family also had a party for my dad's 60th birthday yesterday(Saturday) so I didn't miss out on his party! I don't know if I like coming home..it's somewhat of a tease because yes, I get to see loved ones and friends but I also know there is a big chance that I won't be coming back home again until thanksgiving, and I'm not the best with goodbyes. A big plus of coming home was to be able to drive my car again! I love her so much! Her name is Black Momba and she's a honda civic coupe thats a manual :) and extremely fun for me to drive. Welp that's about all I have for today. Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!!

Project rough draft: almost complete

Once I decided what my "This I Believe" is going to be about (my little brother Conrad), it didn't take long at all to type it up so I'm basically done with that. It feels like a huge weight off my shoulders already :) Last week I had so much free time! This week, well just today i spent about 4 & 1/2 hours doing a Few assignments.  I don't know about anyone else but I'm ready for the weekend!

August 25th, Day two

This is my first experiences with having a blog so please everyone bare with me as I figure out what ideas I want/ should express on here! Alright so today is the second day of English, whooh!  I'm still trying to get on a sleeping pattern that will accommodate my 8 o'clock class in the morning and stil haven't found my pattern yet. So even in later classes such as English 103 I feel at least partly dead. Don't know if anyone else has that problem as well.... O'well, class is chill, I am going to get off here and try to sleep!

First Day of English103

Today's the 23rd of August, the first day of class! After professor McArdle did the intro to the class, we went around the classroom and everyone had to say their favorite book and movie. He had many opinions on the books and movies students had chosen. It seemed to make the class's atmosphere a bit more chipper, so that is always a plus! I'm pretty sure I don't have a favorite of anything, so I just told of the ones I enjoy. After everyone told their favorites Mr. McArdle went over the syllabus and then released us for the day only to meet back this coming Thursday. So there will be many more blogs to come from me as this first semester rolls on by! later!
