Any one watch the news?
I'm from a little town that I don't expect any of you to know. Monrovia Indiana is where I went to high school. If any one watched the news two nights ago, you know that a girl from Monrovia is now accusing an old teacher of mine of rapping her. Now, I know both these people on a personal level; I was a co-captain for the the schools track teem that she was involved in, and not only was I a student for the health teacher & weights teacher that is now being accused of this, but he was also the football coach for my brother a few years back, and I have baby sat his 2 children before with a friend of mine. I will admit that he is perverted, in my weights class there was only 2 girls in the class including myself and inappropriate jokes were made. For some reason his behavior was just accepted throughout the school. No one saw him as an actual threat and we all took his jokes and laughed at them. Last spring during my senior season of track, it was well known that the girl (Miranda) and the teacher texted, which is extremely weird and everyone told her that. But she kept texting him, most likely leading him on. I believe that there is a good chance that they slept together but she is coming forward now with this information because she is ashamed of her own actions, and knows that if she told, she would A.) gain attention, and B.) not have to stand seeing him at school almost everyday and feeling the guilt she deserves to feel because he will soon be fired from her words. She knew what she was getting herself into by texting inappropriately. She could have stopped this at any moment and he would have backed down most likely. But now she is telling the story like he forced her to give him pictures because if she didn't he'd rape her, and she wanted to leave but he denied her. I don't know the actual story, because I was not there, but based on my relationships with both of them, this is how I can imagine it happened based on their characteristics. The majority of people from my hometown who knew the people involved believe the same ideas as I do about this. I know he is still in the wrong, but she's not miss innocent here either. I hate how when Monrovia actually gets on the news, it's for this.

Oh Those Peer Reviews :)
love em :) Love to hear ways to improve my work! I understand how people can get offended but they're good for the long run.

If you don't want to hear complaints then you may not want to read :)
Ok so I am a person that never gets sick. When the rare sickness does hit me, it hits hard. But within the last year I feel like i have gotten many smaller sicknesses. A good example of this is now. I just barely sick enough to where I feel awful and don't want to do anything but not sick enough to have an excuse to lay in bed for a full day to sleep and recover. I feel like a big deal of these little sicknesses are from me stressing so much. I am about to schedule my second semester classes and I am still oblivious of what I would be interested in doing for the rest of my life as a career...kind of a big choice to make don't ya think!?! Some people are amazing at math, so they do something to involve aspect. Others are gifted in sciences, so they choose a path to incorporate that. I love who I am and all but I seem to not have a gift that shines bright and I have accepted the fact that I am an 'average' woman. I just wish I knew a career that would be right for me :) thats all I have to say at the moment. Goodnight everyone!

No Free time
So I hate how before I came to college, everyone told me all these activities that I should get involved in so I won't always be bored with a ton of down time at college. No, I have absolutely no idea what they were thinking! I have absolutely no down time here, and I want some! Yes, I did join a sorority (shout out to Alpha phi!!) and that takes up time, but even when I'm not doing that, I'm either at class, doing homework, eating, showering, or sleeping! I have a strong feeling I'm just going to get more homework to do later on in the year so I guess I should forget the words free time...because I won't be having any of that!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!
Ok, for today we were suppost to read pages 350-400 in the book. Surprisingly the reading went really fast. In class Ann went over a rhetorical analysis assignment we will be doing very soon (so get ready to write another four pages!). We also saw a comercial for Old Spice and picked out the speaker, subject, and audience, aka: ethos, pathos, and logos from that add. Oh, if anyone wasn't in class today (Thursday) then make sure you look at the due dates for the rhetorical analysis assignment because the dates have been moved a little. That's all :)

Today, I was confused why no one was waiting outside the room so I took a seat outside in the lobby area. Right before class began I finally realized everyone was already in class I got kind of embarrassed when I walked in almost late but that's okay. Today in class we talked about what we liked and what could be better (in out opinions) about Haley and Bridgett's This I Believe essays. After that process we had spare time that we were to use to revise our own papers. Class was laid back and everything was dandy!

Rainy Days
I'm sure it's not just me who is sick of all this rain! Yesterday my room mate and I decided to try and catch a bus to take us to Target so we could do some shopping that needed to be done. This was our first attempt of getting on a bus to take us outside the campus besides during welcome week when we were being guided around. So we sat outside Lafollette on the bus benches waiting. We knew a bus came by every 10-15 minutes so when it started to sprinkle we told ourselves we would wait it out. Other people were around waiting for the same bus so we had no doubts that the bus would come very soon. We were waiting about 10 minutes when it started to rain harder and we started to question the idea of a bus coming our way. After all, it was a Saturday and maybe the buses only ran on week days? The people around us assured us that a bus going to the mall or Wall-Mart would be around any minute but my room mate decided to look up the schedule on her phone anyways. While she was doing that I saw a Wal-mart bus coming from the opposite side of the road and I decided to run after it to the bus stop on the other side of the road to ask about the schedule. Turns out the buses stop running at exactly 6: 23 P.M. on Saturdays. So if anyone wants to make a run to a store on saturdays, do it in the early afternoon. Lesson's Learned.

For those who want to know my random thoughts...
Some people are addicted to alcohol, drugs, and shopping. For some weird reason I'm hard core addicted to LifeSavers Wint O Green Mints! they're my favorite, and I eat them faster than any kind of candy. This is on my mind because my senior year everyone thought I spent too much money on them and ate them way too often so I stopped. But last night I bought another package and they're almost gone already. :(
In other news my internet stopped working and screwed me up this past weekend. It was a sad story but thankfully I went to the tech center and after an hour of several people trying to figure out the problem they got it working again!! Yayyy.
Today in class was peer review, and I'm so thankful I got some helpful criticism because I needed it! I love feedback in limited quantities! Lets see how Thursday goes! Later Cardinal fans!

A weekend at home
So I'm doing this blog now because friday I went straight from classes to home. I live almost 2 hours south of muncie and I was scheduled to work all weekend. This worked out well because my family also had a party for my dad's 60th birthday yesterday(Saturday) so I didn't miss out on his party! I don't know if I like coming home..it's somewhat of a tease because yes, I get to see loved ones and friends but I also know there is a big chance that I won't be coming back home again until thanksgiving, and I'm not the best with goodbyes. A big plus of coming home was to be able to drive my car again! I love her so much! Her name is Black Momba and she's a honda civic coupe thats a manual :) and extremely fun for me to drive. Welp that's about all I have for today. Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!!
